Willow Weaving Course Details                                                                      

Willow weaving is one of the most ancient crafts known to man and is still just as alive, relevant and rewarding today. I am offering three willow courses this year each focussing on a different aspect of willow weaving and using a variety of both local and Somerset willow.

 Willow Obelisks & Other Plant Supports   10-4pm, 17th April 2016, 70
New* at Malvern Cube, 10-4pm, 19th March, 70 (Willow Obelisks Only)
Also known as plant supports, tee-pees or wigwams, these are a must for all those climbing plants. You will be taught how to weave a continuous willow spiral which will result in a strong and elegant support. In the afternoon you can make either a domed herbaceous plant support or another obelisk. You will be able to make 2 items.

 Willow Weaving for the Garden
10-4pm, 23rd & 24th April 2016, 160
If you want to make a variety of willow items for your garden then this is the course for you. From plant supports and hurdles to decorative screens and woven trellis. You will learn a variety of weaving techniques necessary to complete your new garden features. You will make upto 4 items. Please ensure you have the means of getting them home.

 Willow Hurdles
10-4pm, 30th April 2016, 80 at the Wildwood Yard

Ideal for a boundary, hiding your compost bin, oil tank, wheelie bin, plugging a gap in your hedge, or just a natural and beautiful feature in the garden. You will learn some basic weaving techniques and use a variety of willow species whilst learning how to make a beautiful yet robust willow hurdle. You will typically be able to make one 6ft by 3ft hurdle or a few mini hurdles. Please ensure you have the means to get them home!
