>Course - Coppicing, Coppice Restoration & Materials Processing

Welcome  We are a small coppice crafts business based in Malvern, Worcestershire. We make all of our products ourselves from locally coppiced materials. We specialise in creating sustainable garden products, bent stick furniture and hurdles. We also make a wide variety of turned, carved, woven and whittled gift items.

We believe passionately in zero waste coppicing, and to this end we supply firewood, charcoal, and biochar, as well as a wide array of craft items.

We are committed to passing on and keeping alive traditional woodland skills  through courses and volunteering. Please support us by buying one of our natural and sustainable products or by coming on one of our many courses.

Thank you, Dave and Kelda

15 Years Old in 2014
Posted January 2014

Wildwood Coppice Crafts Celebrates 15 years of being in business this year (2014). Dave started coppicing as a Volunteer Officer with BTCV in 1998, but became increasingly frustrated with the needless burning of coppice material. Here began Dave's lifelong obsession with finding uses for the relatively poor quality hazel that results from coppice restoration. He founded Wildwood Coppice Crafts in 1999, and now in 2014 we continue to grow and go from strength to strength.

Biochar Project and Zero Waste Coppicing
Posted September 2012

Having secured a grant from the Malvern Hills AONB Sustainable Development Fund, we are now proudly a zero waste company. All our waste brash from our coppicing work was previously burnt or left to rot in the woods! Now it will all be turned into Biochar, an amazing soil conditioner which is not only great for your plants, but is also carbon negative, removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. See the 'Gardeners Biochar' page for more details.

Dave wins Log to Leg World Championships
Posted September 2012

Against all the odds, Dave won the 2012 Log to Leg World Championships! This involves turning two identical windsor chair legs on the pole lathe starting from a log of good quality ash. It was a close race with Dave just beating fellow turner from East Sussex, Richard Ely.Dave with his 'mizer' trophy and one of his legs on the pole lathe
