Volunteer Sessions for winter 2011/2012

The Malvern Hills Coppice Network (MHCN) Volunteer Group and the Malvern Hills Conservators (MHC) Volunteers will be doing invaluable coppice restoration work with us on the following dates. Please do come along and lend a hand. Anyone can come, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

Time: 10am start, about 3pm finish, however, you do not need to come for the whole day.

What to bring with you?

• Please bring outdoor clothing, strong suitable foot ware, a packed lunch and a drink.

• If you have them, you can bring your own basic tools, such as a bow saw, pruning saw, loppers and gloves. But we do supply tools so it is not essential to bring your own.

• We supply hot tea and coffee and biscuits.

Directions to Park Wood
Park Wood, Brockhill Rd, West Malvern, Worcestershire, Grid Ref:  SO 762 443
 
Brockhill Rd is a long unmade road that joins the West Malvern Rd in West Malvern to Walwyn Rd in Colwall.
 
From West Malvern - drive south through West Malvern. Once you have left the village behind you, Brockhill Rd is the second turning on the right (ignore dead end sign). Travel down the road past all the houses and Park Wood appears on your left as the road levels out. Please park in the widened areas on Brockhill Rd. Please do not block gates to adjacent fields.

From Colwall - drive north on the Walwyn Rd (B4218). A few hundred meters past the shops is a triangular grass island on the left hand side at the junction with Old Church Rd and Brockhill Rd. Drive along Brockhill Rd past The Downs School, and continue for half a mile or so. Park Wood will appear on your right immediately after the first house you will encounter at the junction of Brockhill Rd and The Purlieu, both unmade roads. Continue past this house for approximately 50 meters and park in the widened areas on Brockhill Rd. Please do not block gates to adjacent fields.
